With a million things going on on wedding day, there’s a few things you can do ahead of time to make for a stress free day. It’s easy to overlook the small things that can help you out on the big day but that’s why I’m here!
1) Work with your planner to create a timeline for your wedding day. There should be an estimated start and end time for each section of the day with short grace periods in-between.
3) When creating your wedding day timeline be mindful of what time your ceremony is. You want to have enough light to get group photos + bride and groom portraits afterwards. Golden hour is ideal!
4) Schedule a “first look” before the ceremony. This is non-traditional but it allows group photos and other images to be captured before the ceremony, in return allowing more time for the couple to enjoy cocktail hour + socialize with guests after the ceremony.
5) Schedule a “room reveal.” This is when you and your spouse go into the reception area to see it decorated for the first time. This is a great time to get reaction shots + portraits on the dance floor without guests obstructing the background.
6) Utilize your maid of honor/best man! Your wedding day should be as stress free as possible. I suggest giving all of your vendors the contact information for your MOH and BM so you won’t be getting phone calls throughout the day.
7) Break in your wedding day shoes before the wedding! This makes for a much more comfortable day. Also, schedule a trial make up and hair appointment with your vendors of choice.
8) Include a 20 minute “sneak away” session during your reception. By this time it is typically dark out and the shots you’ll get at night will be romantic, intimate and it’ll give you a little time alone with your spouse.
I hope these tips and tricks sparked some ideas & thoughts into things you may not have considered yet for your wedding day!
